Kindergarten

Our students are exposed to French, right from the beginning. At Westboro Academy, we encourage their intellectual, emotional and creative capacities while instilling strong values, social skills and a sense of self.

It’s important to have a great start.

At Westboro Academy, we know that kindergarten is a special time for children. It marks an important milestone in the growth and development of the child. We make it a priority to provide an environment for our youngest students that is warm and nurturing, stimulating and engaging, and one where they can grow to meet their full potential.

Westboro Academy offers a full day French Junior Kindergarten (for those who are 4 years old by December 31 of their entering year) and a full day French Senior Kindergarten (for those who are 5 years old by December 31 of their entering year) although no prior experience with the French language is necessary. Many of the students come from unilingual homes and the youngsters quickly acquire the new language skills they need to succeed.

The Junior and Senior Kindergarten classes have a maximum of 14 and 18 students respectively. Each class has its own experienced, certified teacher. Students in the Kindergarten programs visit specialist teachers for music and for Physical Education.

In Kindergarten, children develop the base they need for a strong foundation in the bilingual program that starts in grade 1.
